Why To Eat

What is the purpose of eating? Obviously to stay alive and provide sustenance but beyond that, for an athlete, what is the most important is feeling good. If you are eating well but aren't feeling great all the time than it's probably time to readjust. It seems logical but it's really hard to change something that's comfortable. This is something that I had to remind myself and I'm ashamed to say that I waited longer than I should have to make a change. Due to the nature of my diet I would some days get 100g+ of fiber and often felt heavy and gross. Well it was great that I was eating all sorts of veggies but I didn't feel great at practice, I felt flat and lethargic. So now I'm trying to make a point of limiting my fiber to about 60-70g and timing it so the bulk of high fiber foods come after practice. So far two days in, I'm feeling better than I have in months.

Reason's for eating:

1.  Sustenance
2.  To feel good and get the most out of each workout
3.  Optimal health, covering all nutritional basics
